For those of you in America on medication.

It’s all about insurance, the medications you need, and how often your psychiatrist requires check-ups after diagnosing you (this is often done in one to two sessions).

Without insurance, it would cost $450 a month for my treatment (two medications and one psychiatric check-up appointment).

I do have insurance and my parents are paying for my medical expenses for the next year and a half. My costs average $60 a month after $4000(?) out of pocket is paid. Plus, there’s the cost of the plan itself.

After they stop, I likely won’t be able to afford any of this if I want a roof over my head, food, and of course, not to default on my student loans. :)
