For those of you that are still trying to justify the rioting/looting: This isn’t how BLM wants to be represented

I saw the video of Floyd's death, and was moved and sympathetic. I payed attention to the story and cheered the officer's arrest. I strongly agreed that Minneapolis PD needed to review its hiring and review process, and not allow sadists like that to be employed.

After numerous explosions outside my downtown apt last night I turned on the police scanner, and listened for hours as people were beaten unconscious, property destroyed, militias trying to snipe police, attempting to burn down city hall, large crowds attacking police officer's and throwing rocks, shooting silenced weapons into the federal building etc.

I live in a town so committed to police reform and community engagement, that nearly all police have been pulled from downtown in the past few years and replaced with community 'ambassadors' who ride around on Segways. They have no power and are completely non-threatening, and have been able to handle the majority of non-violent conflicts without police engagement. The progress has been dramatic and rapid, and the support from our leadership has been unprecedented...... so why attack our police department and try to murder them? They had nothing to do with Minneapolis P.D. They are men and women with families, and you are suggesting that it is justifiable for them to be under attack all night as they try to keep terrorists from burning down our 20 story city hall surrounded by residential buildings?

The sympathy I had 2 days ago has disappeared, and resentment has taken its place. BLM needs to have leadership and a REAL message, not just displays of anger without a clear idea of what laws they want to change.
These protests have been nothing but an expression of hatred toward every person wearing the badge, and that type of unilateral thinking is no different than racism.
