For those in leagues without a trade deadline, has anyone ever actually 'bought a championship?'

Have not seen it before. But I might gonna do it this year. I have a pretty good team, but so has one of the other guys in our league. He won the league last year and he will take the pot if he wins again this year. My future looks great so I would hate to see him take the ship and the pot.

My team:

QB - Wentz, Baker

RB - Barkley, Conner, Aaron Jones, Kerryon, Henry

WR - Adams, Diggs, Allen, Godwin

TE - Ertz, Hooper

I have 3 2020 1st (2 top 3 picks) that I landed a while ago since I was hyped for the 2020 draft. But I might have to package some of my players with picks to win the ship. I also consider package players like Allen, Henry, Kerryon for a stud and then keep my picks.
