For those wanting an alternative to Blizzard.

One could make the same image for Blizzard vs Grind Gear Games when it comes to the action rpg genere.

D3 is such a bad joke when compared to D2 and its spiritual successor Path of Exile. D3 has basically no loot (everyone wears the same set by day2 of a league), no builds (there's always the best build for a league) and no longevity whatsoever. You just grind +1 paragon for nothing.

Then you compare the BlizzCon and ExileCon announcements.

Diablo 4 seemed like a half-baked, souped-up D3 with the same poor execution. By the end of the convention, streamers and youtubers were ripping it apart for being incredibly flawed once again. After all that time between D3 and D4, it seemed like they learned nothing from their mistakes and what drove their core audience away. Let's hope they actually listen to the endless hours of community feedback this time.

Then you had the Path of Exile 2 announcement. Bam, new 7 act storyline, 19 new classes (ascendancies) on top of the already existing 19 classes, improved graphics, tons of new mechanics and improvements. You can also still play the old storyline, the endgame with the dozens of expansions is also still there. Oh and you know what? It's free, enjoy! People are hyped as fucked, because Grinding Gear Games still understands what their players want.
