For those of you who have a high proficiency of Chinese. How has it benefited your career and social life?

Career, massive. Learned Chinese as my 3rd language. A sizable Chinese manufacturing company hired me, sponsored me for a resident permit to China and moved me there to work for them for 5 years as a global sales manager for them, with 100% of my @5 office work in Chinese (which boosted my Chinese level even more). When I left China do move back home, I kept manufacturing in China for my new ventures. it bolstered my career by a lot, leading to other things which led to others.

But these things don’t just come by saying “I’m going to learn Chinese, and everything will just happen”. No. You have to learn it and then actively pursue channels which will use it, but ones which will also open other long term doors.
