For those who've moved to "gentrifying" areas, what has your experience been like?

not to be rude but I don't appreciate how you're talking about Inglewood. I fucking CHERISH this place. I have mad respect for my area and everyone around here too. I've lived in Hawthorne for 3 years, Midcity, Mar Vista. Westchester.

Every place, I loved. Inglewood, no exception. I've lived here the longest. I rent, but I'm super tight with my immediate neighbors, love the lady across the way. I go out of my way to immerse myself in my community, esp in the start.

I volunteer with the fire dept. I help and share with my neighbors. I go to LOCAL coffee shops and am just nice to the people working there, and now I am irl friends with some of the girls there, and we kick it all the time (I'm the only white person in the equation in all of this incase that's relevant).

I don't love seeing new white people moving in around me, because generally they are weird af, and don't try to be just a courteous neighbor/part of the community. I don't say anything negative TO them, though, and I find that part of your story questionable to be honest.
