Forbes World’s Highest-Paid Athletes: Breaking Down Boxer Ranks

If DAZN is contractually obligated to pay Wilder the signed amount win or lose with a definite rematch clause in place, it doesn’t really matter. After those 3 fights, he could also fight anyone he wants to including Tyson Fury rematch.

I’m glad in the end he made the right decision to at least give us the proper rematch with Fury, but he doesn’t make over 100 million from 3 fights no matter how you spin it including the Fury rematch. That’s Canelo/Mayweather money. Could it possibly pan out long term? Sure, never say never, it’s boxing. But one of those two options would have for sure secured his children’s children’s future if he is wise with his financials.

The hype for you may have not went down, but for many it did, and that’s what matters. AJ has a loss on his record and isn’t going into a super match of unbeaten heavyweights anymore. Wilder took a bet on himself and we’ll just have to see how it pans out. I hope for nothing but the best for him because it’ll be awfully sad to look back on what could’ve been if it doesn’t work out.
