Forcing Female Quotas on Oil Service Company in an Industry Downturn

In the tech industry, 90% of the time, quotas for western women IT workers result in hirings as bad as the worst H1Bs, the pool of western women developers is so shallow, they take whatever they can get, and 90% of the time it just ends up as 4 competent workers carrying the 5th while the boss complains about how we can't hire an additional IT tech because we just hired one.

Slightly different market condition, but same end effect of basically the men having to do the women's job while she gets to fuck around, maybe flirts with the boss a bit to guarantee that the rest of the time she doesn't have to do anything.

Cue people brushing up their resumes. Always happens in scenarios like this. The talent which had experience with the shop's setup is gone within a year. Never coming back.

If the company wants to spend a chunk of change on what are effectively escorts as a morale boost for the managers, whatever, but they are crazy when they think the workers are going to shoulder the cost in terms of more hours or responsibilities. I've never seen it work out well for a shop.
