A foreigner's perspective on the CECA issue

I dont think it’s a race issue with the people who are making all this noise. It’s more about who is being seen as taking their rice bowls RIGHT NOW. You can practically substitute anyone who is in a job that they feel a Singaporean should have but doesn’t. It doesnt even have to be that particular individual who thinks it. It doesnt matter that there are so many job vacancies. It doesnt even matter that employers are having a hard time filling up these jobs. To them, only Singaporeans should have that job. Not even PR or new citizens. Only born and bred. You can substitute that with the 5 Lithuanians in the country and they will make a fuss. Now substitute that with a huge amount of Indians, and here we are. Point is, it’s not racism against Indians. It’s a lot of things - economics, citizens rights, entitlement, jealousy, but it’s not racism.
