Food for thought: Is it possible that the abject failure of Halo Infinite to date could, in the long term, help the series return to its roots? Had Infinite been as successful as 343 had envisioned, they would be making so much income from season passes, cosmetics, etc... that we would have almost certainly been doomed to a curated, more generic game in line with CoD, Overwatch, etc...

Instead, we seem to be ending up getting the best version of Forge ever, and with the custom game browser eventually landing, perhaps this game will be played for a VERY long time, with higher quality fan-made content that exceeds any AAA shooter to date.

Of course, that assumes regular folks would ever come back en masse to this game, and perhaps they never will. Still, once the custom game browser is here the community can only grow from there.
