"Forget everything you learned in college...

My two cents, a college diploma these days means nothing. You're either smart enough and motivated enough to do it, or you got pushed through. Regardless, in a best case scenario a college degree is merely potential evidence of some capacity for critical thinking and tenacity. In most cases the possession of a college diploma is fairly meaningless for predicting the success of an applicant. The post is very accurate in that most professions apply very little in a day to day basis of anything learned in higher education. To make matters worse, more and more people are being pushed through degree programs. This only serves to drive down salaries and increase turnover rates. Negotiating is difficult at best and often fruitless because there are ten more like you waiting for the job. The ability to provide criticism and feedback is similarly hampered during the first several years of your career because again, you're easily replaced. Problem is, there doesn't appear to be an easy solution. An uneducated population elects Republicans and people like Trump, contribute to higher crime rates, poorer families, and all around decrease the viability of a society. That being said a lot of people end up in fields outside their degree program, but still have student loans further suppressing the economy. So what's the solution? Shit, this is /r/Jokes and I just got all worked up :-P
