Forgive Me Friday - Hi-Point .45ACP Carbine (4595TS)

Was 50 yds the minimum zero?

I guess, what I'm getting at is minimum zero is going to be different on every rifle, caliber, sight placement, and sight model. Minimum zero is a good way to determine zero at a given distance when you know all the other factors are the same(like a government issued M16). With a .45 caliber, you can't expect a minimum zero at 25 yds to translate to a zero at 200 yds(or any other distance) even if the bullet will travel that far. The trajectory, even if it would allow you to zero it like that, would not translate well to it's respective longer distance.

I don't doubt that your 9mm was accurate for cans at 50yds, it just has nothing to do with what a minimum zero distance is. A minimum zero distance is only useful when the closest point(useless) that you can reasonably create, matches a similar point in the distance(useful).

That said, I've used my offset MBUS Gen2 on my .308 just for fun. BUS stands for "Back Up Sights". Now I want to find the minimum zero AND find the corresponding zero distance, lol.
