The 1,600 migrant children officials said were coming to Fort Sill might not be crossing Oklahoma state lines, according to Sen. Jim Inhofe.

The unaccompanied children were supposed to be moving to a facility at the U.S. Army base in Lawton. On Tuesday, Inhofe told KOCO 5 that those plans have been put on hold.

"We have it set up so it won't be using any military funds," Inhofe said. "It's going to be done entirely outside of that, and it won't be using any military personnel."

The Republican senator from Oklahoma did not say if or when Fort Sill will house the migrant group.
