Eh, give me (atalkingfish) a bit more credit than that. I haven’t been fed anything by anyone except my own assessment of the situation. It’s fine to disagree on assessment, but there are a real number of facts and observations that should be taken into consideration.
That is, when the church regularly excommunicated sex offenders, it’s hard to agree when people say there is a cover-up. When the number of bishops sexually abusing children is so low, it’s hard to agree with claims that it’s a pervasive problem.
No comment on the comment you’re responding to, however. I agree that whatever good an organization does does not excuse bad behavior. But misrepresenting bad behavior is also a problem.
