Former Liverpool Goalkeeper Tommy Lawrence passed away today. A couple of years ago a BBC reporter interviewed him without knowing who he was - such a heartwarming video

Essentially, you are arguing against the nature of the universe. All things that arise also pass away. A rock, a galaxy, a person, a thought, a memory. Everything. Death is not a thing per se. It really is a part of life, meaning there is no life without it. It is just the ending of every life; the dissolution of every form that arises. Every form that has ever arisen or ever will comes to and ending. It isn't the opposite of life, it's the opposite of birth.

In my view, it doesn't help to view death as some horrible thing. If you call it horrible and that causes you pain, you are supplying the "horrible."

If it's raining, if you wish is wasn't raining, feel bad about it, and call the weather horrible that's similar. The rain isn't horrible, it's just water falling from the sky. In that case, you are also supplying the "horrible" by struggling against reality.
