Former PlayStation exec questions the Xbox Game Pass model | VGC

Thought I’d come back and debunk some of your points:

Microsoft regularly informs the public about gamepass figures

They do every quarter yes.. but no one knows how true they are.. hence why I used that word true previously. MS have many, many ways to get people into the GP ecosystem, the $1 for 3 month deal is one of them. Also free trials on other products people buy is another. These are all things that can inflate their reported numbers. So no one knows the true number of the amount of subscribers GP has, that actually stay and invest further time and money into the ecosystem.

some reason you’re just equating everything he said with Sony

Well yes… he literally works/worked for Sony no? Why would his opinion on a business model he doesn’t work on matter? Because he’s business savvy? I’m tech savvy.. doesn’t mean I’m more knowledge than an IT specialist. He was obviously referring to Sony, as it’s clearly not sustainable for them. It is for MS as of right now because they’re not currently looking at making a profit just yet. It’s simple.

well their target could be becoming a monopoly

Yes it could be. It could also be world domination. As outsiders and consumers, we don’t know. So speculation gets us no where. My point still stands.
