That's a different argument, a strawman if you will. Habitat destruction must stop. Putting animals in cages, cases, and enclosures does not stop habitat destruction and conservation is about populations not individuals. Conservation for conservations sake is narcissism.

A pristine and protected wilderness is THE ONLY proper condition. Again, to condemn zoos is not to support or condone habitat destruction. To support zoos is to accept habitat destruction.

To think animals in zoos is acceptable for any reason whatsoever shows a complete lack of understanding of the dignity of a living thing and the wild instincts being suppressed that it has to deal with.
