Former VW CEO Charged with Four Felonies in the U.S.

There is this weird subtle dislike of VW a lot of non-car people have in North America, I've never understood it either. They will never admit they dislike VW, but they will refuse to buy it and advise others not to either for vague reasons with dynamic goal posts. People ask me for advice on vehicles, and I'll discuss options from Mazda/Toyota/Ford/etc, the second I bring up a VW option they screw their face right up like I'm trying to force feed them brussel sprouts, but can't provide a reason as to why exactly they aren't interested in that option.

The same concerned people will happily litter and smoke ignore recycling best practices and idle their own car for an hour.
