I just got reminded of this Sterling video I saw. It was based around the old Sonic movie design, and the thing I remember the most was when they said something along the lines of, "When you try to make Sonic scary, it's hilarious. But these executives in trying to improve something just made it horrific".

Which is totally true, because something like Sanic.executable/Xenophanes from the Friday Night Funkin mod: Vs Sonic.exe, while I recognize as being scarier than the original .exe (as low as a hurdle as it is) and I think if you remove the Sonic part, would be a neat base for a monster is a kinda goofy looking monster (which I think the artists knew), comparatively, the old movie Sonic design is well, you know.
