I remember following this game up until its release. I would constantly check my phone for news on the game. I was hyped to no end. And to be quite honest, I was kind of disappointed at some of the missing features, but I definitely got over it. This game came at a perfect time in my life. I was struggling with an alcohol addiction and I almost got in some trouble because of it, but I was given a chance to fix myself and I did. This game had a lot to do with it. Because I was so enamored with the prospect of this game, when it came out I was basically only focused on NMS, school, and work. Alcohol was essentially eliminated from my life for quite a while because this game replaced it. Watching this video that I made from around the time I beat my addiction almost made me cry. I am so grateful for this game, this marvel of technology that fits right into my personal definition of a perfect game. In a sense, this game saved me from sinking to the lowest point of my life. Not only that, but I began using the game as a means to work on my passion of video editing and have created a few more videos since this one, and I hope to make a career out of that passion. All in all, even though the game had an extremely rocky start, I owe a lot to it, and I will stand by this game and Hello Games for as long as it exists, because they pretty much saved me.
