Found this on my Facebook feed. I knew it belonged here.

Ahh. Finally! I get to make this point to someone on the other side of the spectrum! K. So I'm usually not one to do this, but I looked through a couple past comments and you seem to consider yourself a uhh.. "man of science". Ok. Well, as a man of science, you're aware of how ridiculous it is to identify as a proponent of either side of the nature/nurture debate, right?

In the same way I'm sure you've paraded (as I myself have) around telling people the ills of explaining the world with theories from Sociology/Gender Studies, I think it's time you realize you need to stop drinking the evolutionary bio/pysch kool-aid. I sure used to do it, and it was awesome. How great is it adhering to some clear-cut explanation of the world which pretty much is adamant that your gender is inherently the dominant one? Anyway, I'm sure a redditor won't change your engrained worldview. You seem pretty ready for a venemous shitslinging match. But I'll leave this small and admittedly small/concise source here, and perhaps it'll be a starting point to a new understanding of the world. (This site is a wonderful resource btw, I recommend anyone to check it out). If I was to have a recommendation, albeit a very, very long recommendation, it's to check out this course from "The Great Courses". You'll learn an incredible amount of information. Information which'll make you understand yourself better than you ever have. It'll also help you understand how nature/nurture works together in our development. Again, if you consider yourself knowledgeable enough to say with certainty the answer to that "debate" is on one side or the other - you've been grossly misinformed.

...Btw, to clarify, OPs (picture) original point was that the "accolades" were incredible, yet she's known for her beauty. The ironic thing is the OP of this particular thread probably was a woman. We've all been "socialized" to consider a woman's beauty her most important asset. IMO, especially considering the "accolades" mentioned in this picture, that's incredibly troubling, and absolutely can and should be fixed.
