You're right. If there's room for site that have bootleg streams, or re-uploads of things like music videos, and other quasi/non-legal stuff then the internet is going to also be free for grey-area (legally) things like racism and other bigotry.

In the internet of old, those people had to pay for their own hosting and that kept them limited just like the grey-area copyright sites. It's harder to get your narrative across to the masses when the cost of doing so is coming out of your own pocket.

(Note: Yes, torrents make copyright violation easier but there's still the issue of hosting the tracker and social sites that surround that community. There's still cost someplace.)
