Want to be optimistic but get the sense people (at least in my circle) are working out somethings brewing. But then I go to the shops and the shopping centre is pumping. Wonder how that will change with JK now starting the wind down, and people watching these sorts of media pieces.

Without immigration / travel the wheels will come off sooner than later. You can’t really see the immigration side day to day but that’s what kept us humming along with commodities.

There’s a lot of commentary on when we can expect a vaccine. Even if one is found, FDA approved tomorrow it will take years for the vaccine programs to roll out. Vaccine production is an intensive process and hard to scale, and vaccines are sensitive in terms of storage and handling. Part of the reason you have quad vaccines for flu each year is you need to take a punt at which strains will land and cause issues 6 months plus in advance, to then start production for that season.

Virus will be with us for a lot longer than people realise.
