Four Indian-Americans arrested in US for H1B visa fraud

Why is it that people from India are always arrested for visa fraud

US has over 180k Indian students alone. Then there are the Chinese and other nationalities. On top of this, there is also the employees of Indian companies. All these are fighting for the 80k visa every year.

A lot of Indian students don't come to US because of the education, they also expect to get a job there and at least work for a few years and get back the money they spent. Most Americans themselves cannot afford their college education, then how can an Indian afford? Its a huge money for most of them.

This means there is a huge demand for h1bs among these students. And I think a lot of these students don't really understand the difficulties involved in staying in US after their education. By the time they realise it, its too late. They have already spent their money, and their time. Even before Trump, it was not that easy to get a job. And one needs to be in the country for a couple of years to recoup the money they spent. And there is also the issue of "you loose your job, leave the country within x days".

This is where the scammers come in. They offer ways to give you an h1b and keep you on status. So, people who are desperate would take it. Since majority of visa holders are from India, you would see more from Indian Americans (who are American citizens) taking advantage of these people. They understand the situation completely because they themselves have gone through it. So they milk it.
