Four years apart - from poodle to CURLS!

It’s been a struggle, but I FINALLY managed to get a selection of products and technique that gets my hair presentable - at least, until I sleep on it. No amount of silk wrappings or pillowcases, creative tying or pinemappling, lets this hair survive the night. I also have some issues with frizz and volume at my roots - where the rest of my hair forms lovely ringlets, no amount of mousse or clipping technique gets any volume up there.

But for the most part: my hair is soft and shiny, and moves like a dream. It makes my fine, sparse hair look much healthier and fuller. I’m in love.

My product list and routine:

Hair type: Low porosity, very fine. 2B-2C.

Every other day, wash upside-down with Orlando Pita Argan Gloss Shampoo, focusing on the roots. Rinse thoroughly, then apply generous amount of Curls Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave-In Conditioner. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes, comb out tangles, then flip hair upside down again and rinse most of the way out with cool water, leaving enough for the hair to still feel “slimy.” Still with head held upside down, scrunch gently with a t-shirt to remove extra moisture, just until hair stops dripping. Apply GENEROUS handful of OGX Locking+ Cocount Curls Decadent Creame Mousse, focusing on plumping the roots and gently smoothing through the rest of hair as needed. Get a new, dry T-shirt and plop for 15-20 minutes, then remove shirt, clip up roots, and allow to air dry. Diffuse as needed on warm setting.
