Self Control

Last summer, me and this girl started hanging out and having a lot of fun together. Things happened and we eventually ending up becoming more than friends, but things didn’t work out. I tried everything to convince her to stay but the feeling just wasn’t the same anymore so I let her be on her way. I thought about her for months. I guess you could say she was one of my first loves. One day she texted me out of nowhere and told me to listen to Self Control. I had already heard Blonde and a million times and listened to it regularly so I knew the song, but it meant so much to me that she heard it and wanted to tell me about it. I began hearing it differently. I related to every lyric in the song and now every time I listen to it, it reminds me of her and the summer we spent together and how much I enjoyed it despite not being able to do it again. We still talk and we’re pretty good friends, but I wish our time was right.
