Franken urged to reverse his resignation

And one of the accusers was a Democratic Congressional aide.

That caught my eye and made me skeptical because the final blow was coming from (possibly) opportunistic Democrats.

On very great balance it seems like a long overdue reckoning with and accountability for predatory behavior is taking place. Most of the private organizations firing people seem to be putting together dossiers of inappropriate/exploitive sexual relationships along with bullying behavior before pulling the trigger. The HR department and corporate lawyers are doing their due dilligence so they aren't getting successfully sued.

The way the Franken story went down was a parody of this. Outlets like the Huffington Post were putting out supposedly vetted stories, but the vettings didn't seem all that rigorous.

It's a pretty low standard to throw an elected official out of office with. Are we getting to a place where outrage on social media is more important/legitimate than our democratic institutions?

Franken could be a pig. I'm uneasy about the complete lack of process and where getting comfortable with a lack of process could lead.
