Free-For-All Friday!

I'm finally brewing the starter batch for my perpetual ferm this Monday! I'm starting it small scale for now, the vessel is an awesome old 25L carboy in a wooden frame that I got from a friend's mother in Germany (not really relevant, but I like what it kind of adds to the project).

I've settled on using the mad fermentationist saison blend as well as TYB Mélange for primary, and then let their bugs continue over in the demijohn. I'll also throw a couple of (used) rum barrel oak cubes in there.

I plan on doing a single yearly pull of half the volume. Some will get some time on fruit and some will probably be bottled straight.

I'm super exited about this, I've been wanting to get started for a while, but life tends to want other things than a perpetual ferm project apparently...
