I haven't cared this little about the Panthers since the Jimmy Pickles era. I'm having a really hard time making an emotional investment in the team after they treated Cam the way they did. I've been calling for Rivera to be fired since the 2016 season at least and literally shouted and danced with joy when I woke up and saw that headline a couple months ago. I was terrified of us picking McDaniels or Bieniemy as our new HC and really wanted Rhule with Brady as the OC, and I was over the moon when each of those hirings happened. And then all of the foolishness begins; treating the most important player in franchise history like garbage, releasing him to sign a mediocre starter who will neither make us competitive nor help us get a high enough pick to draft a QB that will make us competitive in the future, trading our best offensive lineman, who was still young enough to stick around for a rebuild, for a moron on the verge of retirement with an even bigger contract.

I really don't think I'll be able to invest in this team again until Marty Hurney is gone. He's ruined this team for far too long, and it pisses me off that our owner has the balls to claim he won't accept mediocrity while doing the same crap Richardson did with keeping an inept fool in charge of his franchise. Even if we have a season this year, I can't imagine any product that the Panthers put on the field will make me interested either. I'll keep an eye on them but if there's a more interesting match-up elsewhere I'll probably be watching that. It sucks because I love the Panthers but I just have no positive feelings about the team when I think about them right now, not even for a new HC who I think will be really good.
