So I've been playing Silent Hill Downpour, and I won't go into an in depth review or anything, but I'll list some things I like and don't like about it

Things I like:

- I love the look of the town while it's raining. It works really well with the fog, and ends up making the game very pretty to look at while you're walking around town

- I think Murphy and his story are actually kinda interesting. I don't think the story is executed very well, but I think there's a lot of good stuff in there that could be rewritten into something better

- In theory, I like the idea of the town being open and freely explorable with sidequests to do, although I don't think this was done as well as it could have been

- There's some scares that are kind of cool. One of them involves you walking through an outdoor park area with a tireswing, and when you turn around, the tireswing has been replaced with a corpse hanging from a noose (Although it kind of lost the effect and became comical when I realized you can just infinitely change it back and forth by turning around)

Things I dislike:

- The monster designs are TERRIBLE. One of them is just a shirtless guy who runs up and tries to box you to death while going "Hoyah!" in the least scary voice ever

- The puzzles tend to be pretty bad. One of the sidequests I did involved replacing a broken bulb in a movie theater projector, and I spent like an hour searching the theater and even the area outside the theater looking for a replacement bulb, and eventually looked it up and found out it's in a random shop in a completely different part of town, and there's zero information in the game that would allow you to figure this out yourself. This is how most of the sidequests are handled.

- The Otherworld sections are just the chase sections from Shattered Memories, but done way worse. There is very little exploration, you just run away from an angry red void that tries to eat you, while trying to find the one door in the area that will allow you to progress., and some of them tend to get super tedious

Overall, the game's not great. I'm honestly having a hard time deciding if it's better or worse than Homecoming
