*I know most people here have probably ever heard this, and probably even fewer people care:

There is a rumor on campus (I have to stress, it is just a rumor) that has been circulating since 2018 that allegedly the football program has some sort of game-changing way to prepare for games that utilizes new technology.

The exact nature of it is a closely kept secret, but people speculate that it has something to do with a simulation and perhaps utilizing virtual reality. The original thing I heard is that the players wear headsets in the field so they can see plays unfold over and over again under different scenarios. Think of it like a scout team but you can see play after play rapidly since (unlike practice or scrimmage) you can instantly reset it.

Like, what I was thinking, imagine if a QB can see receivers running routes over and over in all sorts of different defensive scenarios.

When you are playing against the scout team IRL, because it takes time for players to return to their position after every play and because of other little delays, you may only run 1 or 2 plays a minute. Instead, imagine if every 7 seconds when the route is over, the QB could instantly reset it, watching it over and over, 5 or 10 times a minute, with the ability to instantly adjust things like how the defense lines up, whether they blitz, etc.

Anyway, just something to talk about, not sure if its veracity.
