Free Talk Friday

I love and respect most of the opinions on /r/NFL and the internet seems like the only place to have a reasonable conversation on this.

I grew up in a very back woods area with lots of racism and general close mindedness. That said, I'm very happy about the Supreme Court ruling today as I don't think the government has much business telling people who can and can not be recognized as wedlocked couple. Additionally, I support equal rights for gays, all ethnicities, and transgenders. I would never discriminate against someone or treat them differently for their life choices.

All of that aside, does anyone else think in the world's natural state that homosexualism and transgenderism are just inherently wrong? I'm not saying in a religious way, just in an order of the worlds way. Homosexuality doesn't help to produce offspring(granted the world doesn't really need more babies right now) and it did help spread one of the most deadly viruses of the past century. Transgenderism has historically been linked to mental illness and even after getting the surgery those individuals continue to suffer and commit suicide. I'm just not sure if being so openly prideful of these things has a positive impact on future generations. Will it lead to more kids experimenting sexually? Hell, I've even heard adults state something along the lines of "well such and such sex hasn't been working out might as well try women/men"(granted, this is probably an exaggeration or straight up joke).

I don't know, I'm not really sure how to feel about either of these things from a human evolution standpoint. Then again, plenty of animals have gone around fucking every one of each other for millenia and they seem to be making out okay. Apologies if this is the wrong place for this, just thought it would be an interesting conversation to have and I respect a lot of opinions on here while being able to remain anonymous for understandably heated/emotional social topics.
