Also from a digital art perspective, there simply is no competition for what the newest iPads + Apple Pencil can offer at the <$500 budget. Android tablet programs are serviceable but I believe you have to plug in an external drawing tablet to get any kind of pressure sensitivity which is huge for digital art. So the only real proper alternative to what Apple offers are Wacom's MobileStudioPros, and while the screen difference is no contest, they also start at like several thousand dollars and are the most expensive drawing tablets offered by anybody.

Also it sounds a little bandwagon-y at this point but for one-time $10 purchase, nothing also compares with the value that Procreate provides. I believe with the newest release of Procreate the program now supports animation and supporting Photoshop brush file import into the program for use. Not too sure though as i returned my iPad before Procreate 5 released
