As a freelancer - I've sometimes found it difficult to navigate the clients employee mindset. For example I find they have to fill a 38 hour week, so meetings drag on far longer than they need to, or long winded phone calls, while I want to get a good job done fast. How do you deal with this?

I know how it feels when the clients pay you the expectations to work together and delay it like they are out of the game. It may appear counter intuitive to many, however when we think about this from clients' perspective, unless and until he/she needs the service quickly, they wouldn't initiate the deal. Chances are there that they are also taking the time to hunt for other freelancers for the same project for the comparison in terms of work quality as well as price. This is a major drawback of freelance arena. Don't get upset, though.

If you pitch effectively and follow up the prospective client on a scheduled timeline, chances are very high that they would take action to initiate the work process. You don't necessarily need to showcase the desperate face; be confident and look professional. Irrespective of your niche, consider freelance like every business out there.

Deal with your clients as a business owner, not like an employee. Have a strong portfolio that catches the attention from your clients. There should be something unique in your pitch, so that they will notice it. It can be anything including the price, offers, or the delivery frame.

Believe me! This should workout with you. All the best!
