French national anthem

when you'll learn to what that song is an hommage for then you'll find it even more dark.

the Marseillaise is an hommage to the Marseillais, a bunch of criminals released from jails of Marseille and around, to go up to Paris and terrorize the deputies and other people that weren't in line with the power in place. it emphasizes the national sentiment and ideology of freedom while really it covered a plain violent and murdering dictature far from the nicest ideas of what could have been the fair republic. an horror.

so no wonder the lyrics are violent but consider that it could have been far worse now you know the background.

some people want to change the lyrics. some want it gone completely with the nations because they are globalists. a surprisingly quickly growing number want it gone too because they are royalists and want the reestablishment of the monarchy.
