French parliament votes to enshrine abortion as constitutional right

Well actually it wasn't even the left that allowed abortion in the first place, so I personally find it kinda weird that the left use it to peints itself as the big protector of abortion right while at the same time nobody serious is discussing it in France (you really cannot compare the situation with the USA). Anyway it is the kind of political move with zero impact on people's life but also zero risk while getting you sympathy so I guess it makes sense strategically

Still I think it is a good thing to protect this right (even though I don't have an opinion on enshrining it as constitutional right) but maybe it would have been better for parties to come up with a common proposal since they pretty much all agree on it, instead of this race they are doing to be the one that is gonna pass it first to get the applause
