French workers win legal right to avoid checking work email out-of-hours

There's something we call a "tipping point" in business, which you'll learn eventually. It's a state of equilibrium or balance between, in the worker's eyes, the perceived benefits a job offers them versus its drawbacks. For example, I could likely pay many people on this website $150k a year to do absolutely nothing all day save for pursue their own passions and their perceived benefits would rate very highly. Conversely, I could enslave them and provide them with only the most basic sustenance whilst driving them into the ground.

The illusion is that a business owner defines the range in with this tipping points sits. The market determines it. I would love to pay people to do absolutely nothing (or even the bare minimum their role requires). However, neither I nor you live in that world. Instead, we live in a world in which commodities are trending towards free (ie: Many younger members of society have absolutely no problem stealing from an artist by pirating the very contributions that more talented and harder working artist has made).

I didn't write the rules. Rather, I choose to profit from them while others choose to whine about them.
