[FRESH ALBUM] Eminem - Revival

I know what you're saying and I totally agree with most of it, but Em's style is not evolving in a good way. It's watering down and becoming less of who he was. How do you do you go from making fun of pop culture and celebrities only to have them featuring on almost every track? These tracks hardly sound like hip-hop at all, but more like pop songs made to hit the charts. Change is often good, but sometimes it's not so good. Not sayin' Em has to be the same guy he was in '99, but that was when he was the most authentic version of himself. No artist should be making different types of music to cater to different types of fans. If they choose to experiment with different styles, it should be because he wants to do it. Not because a certain chunk of his fans would find it listenable. That's not a smart approach to making a record, imo. He should just be making music he likes, which I think he is doing, but it has polarizing results.

Drake has been doin' corny shit his whole career. In fact, he has improved with every release, but Em has done the opposite. Of course that is my opinion, sure, but there's such a drastic change in sound that Em has been using this past decade that is anything but original or refreshing. I'm not trying to be a gatekeeper telling others what to enjoy, so this is by no means about how special I think I am. I just see a clear lack of authenticity and originality from an artist who once made exciting music.
