[FRESH SINGLE] Earl Sweatshirt -Nowhere2go

Ok so I been listening to this on loop for like fifteen minutes and yeah man. I feel like I'm getting it more. Maybe I'm just high but ¯_(ツ)_/¯. To really appreciate this song it helps you to know who Earl is/appreciate and know him as a person/what he's been going through. I can see as a newish listener people might not like it. I was really unsure of it at first and thought it felt lazy. The more I listen the more I really appreciate the minimal rap and letting the beat breathe so much. And I still think he could put more into the rapping a little bit/mumble less. But it's also a cool stylistic choice that fits the vibe of it.

Also, it's like a continuous loop/loops perfectly on repeat. I also thought the short length of it was annoying, but if you put it on repeat, the brevity is really cool, it makes it actually even more listenable and gives you a better idea/experience of the song.

It does a lot more with a lot less. Even starting "we're back" at the beginning, acknowledging he hasn't dropped in a long time, but it's also a great way to lead a song that's basically the perfect loop.

This shit feels really honest and not trying to impress, and the more I listen the more I appreciate. It's really relaxing and so perfectly nails this nostalgic feeling I can't define. It was disorientingly abstract at first in a lot of ways, but the more I listen the more I see the emotion/reminiscence and even him summarizing a lot of his story and year/years. This almost seems like an outro or song near the end of an album. I love the beat. The vocal and the guitar are really well used. The lyrics even are actually more clever than I gave them credit for at first. It's def a chill song perfect for hanging out by yourself w nice speakers/headphones, almost a good middleground between background music and the opposite. I'm slowly fucking with it. It's weird af lol. I'd have just named this song Time or something lol.
