[FRESH] Statik Selektah & Green Lantern - "I Hate (the new) Kanye"

There's just an overwhelming bias to anything Kanye does on here. People want characters in life, and Kanye is a character. He makes decent productions, his raps are a little week. I think there is a lot of other really talented people in hip-hop on here that get dwarfed and shoved out of the way. They don't get to have their small moment because you all are too worried about Kanyes latest tweet. Kanye West feels like the Spice Girls and you all are 9 year olds from 1998.

The thing that really erks me about the whole thing is musical prowess aside, this dude has said some legitimately horrible, fucked-up shit about people. That shit about Taylor Swift and Bill Cosby. Come on, I don't care how much fandom I have for someone, they say some shit like that, I'm gonna have a hard time supporting them. I get it, its lame internet activism to say something like that, but it holds water. You wanna talk about why people view the hip hop community sometimes as unmotivated and non-contentious of sensitive subjects? Shit like this highlights it. I'm not saying shit has to get all PC, a lot of that annoys me. But that kind of talk is blatant disregard for real things that are impacting peoples lives.

So idk. I don't want to get to into it. But i think HHH needs to take a good look at itself in the mirror and think about when they talk about Kanye if its even about music anymore, of just praising a character fabrication because they've forgotten what its like to not do that.

It's like continuing to watch a TV series just because you know what's going on in the TV series, as opposed to genuinely enjoying and pulling meaning out of it.
