"Freshmen" is sexist now?

I mean, that's kind of how it works in Germany. There isn't a "college of education" per se; students get a MA in two subjects with an additional focus in teaching methods, and then spend two full school years as trainees/student teachers. They're part of a state-affiliated "Studienseminar" that is run by teachers who then hold the official oral and written exams and conduct the classroom observations. It's really quite intense, and yet it's effective without anything like "National Board [of Garbage]" or EdTPA (emphasis on the "TP") or one of Pearson's many, many super simple, moneymaking "certification exams." They trust their universities, as state universities, to train the teachers for that state. What a world! lol
