I’m not sure what her being a feminist or a vegan has to do with this.

As I wrote, it actually wasn't her, but her friends. I mentioned those things to provide context and, mainly, to highlight the hypocrisy of adhering to a set of beliefs which revolve around equality, fairness, and kindness extended to everyone regardless of sex, race, sexual orientation, or even species, and then callously laughing at the misfortunes of others because they are doing something they don't like, or simply because they are men. To me, they are no different than those people who claim to be Christians but who would let entire countries starve, thereby contradicting their own beliefs for self interest, or simply out of spite.

And I most certainly did not put her down for being a lesbian.
