Friend gave me an immune booster when I was feeling sick. But looks like regular multi-vitamin. Can one really ‘boost’ their immune system with a supplement? Thanks.

Just blend or juice vegetables (and add an apple for sweetness if you don't like the taste.) That's what I do and as a result I have energy and I don't get sick. It'll "boost your immune system" (and general health.) According to his doctor, supplements recently contributed to a friend of mine getting a stomach ulcer (apparently he had too much iron or something). But he was also taking a medication and suffering from stress so it was not the only cause. But he was taking A LOT of supplements on top of it all even though he already eats healthy enough to get plenty of natural nourishment.

It's been shown that if you have too many supplements they can just build up in your body. Makes you wonder if they work at all (or enough to matter) and also if they are regulated well enough to be as safe and healthy as they're advertised as.

Real food with real nutrients is the better way to go, and while not instant it will increase general health and as a side effect you won't be sick nearly as often as if you just ate burgers, sugar, and salt followed by some vitamins.
