A friend of mine got out of a meeting with Star Theory talking about KSP2.

Good eye! I don't want to call out everyone who was there, it feels a little weird without asking them individually even though we're all in countless group shots that will come out, but it was an awesome and intimidating group of Kerbal experts. I was for sure the least qualified person there. I've streamed a ton of KSP over the years and onboarded plenty of people, but as Scott put it, "every road trip need the comic relief guy". I was the broader spectrum fellow. The discussion was really well rounded. I'm fairly good at keeping a finger on community worries and interfacing between, but the group brought up concerns I had never considered with their varied expertise. Star Theory took a lot of notes on great ideas the group provided, but they were extremely in touch with everything that hurts players and modders in KSP1. Even where they couldn't disclose straight answers when we asked specific pain point questions the looks on their faces were just totally giddy and pained, like they wanted so badly tell us their solution but couldn't yet. It was kind of funny actually.

As an aside, something I really want to convey to people is that for all of us and for different reasons, KSP is very important. I think we all left reassured and happy. Even talking to each other privately away from the devs. I think people can breathe easy for a while, and if folks need to worry, save those worries for later in development. I was skeptical going in and left with a so very rare impression of this dev group probably being the best case scenario for KSP. They're fans. I'm very happy.
