A friend of mine needs serious help, but I don't know what to do. (Trigger Warning - Heavy Topics Discussed).

For a while I was seeing an english-speaking therapist here and it was covered by VZP (normal insurance here). I can't speak for mental hospitals having never been in one...but a few things are unclear. Is she Czech? Is she in or near a bigger Czech city or in a remote village? Obviously, being in a village in the middle of nowhere is going to have fewer options than being in Prague or Brno.

Is she actively suicidal? If so, this isn't something you (I'm assuming not a professional) should be dealing with. I think if so, the best thing would be to get the help of police but I'm going way out on a limb here. I live here and I think that would be my first move if she was suicidal.

I hope you don't think I'm being uncaring but I didn't find problems finding an english-speaking therapist and mental health issues are super scary and should be dealt with by professionals, not lay-people. The last thing you need is to be put into a position where this becomes your responsibility.

You didn't mention it before but have you met in real life or just via internet?
