Friend transferred $20,000+ to Discover savings acct, Discover shut the account down and is mailing her a check

Lol what? Touch grass? I've never heard that. What does that even mean? Actually don't tell me, I'm not wasting my time on useless statements.

And two, what's inaccurate about my statement? Please explain it to me. If the banks don't treat their own US citizen customers like that, why should they treat others any better? And second point, Discover isn't even your best choice as a non-US citizen. It doesn't have access to many ATMs outside of the US. So if your friend decides to travel to see family or whatever to their home country, good luck getting access to their funds. Probably better off going to something like Charles Schwab that offers ATM reimbursements internationally and no FTF.
