In my case studies, meaningful coincidences occur once the Cupid archetype is awakened. Perhaps subconscious desires of love catalyze the train of synchronicities, but whatever transpires, it has the feel of a powerful and unusual happening. These are not simple love affairs gone wrong. In so many of the love bite cases I have investigated, the lovers enter a magical world where unusual situations unfold with synchronicities and omens. When we are in love, we can access a deeper power within ourselves, which I believe sometimes includes psychic abilities. Perhaps in this sense, Cupid acts as a catalyst of our own creative power. But with the Dark Side of Cupid, instead of a happily-ever-after lesson, the love affair left one of the lovers confused and emotionally drained. For some, it shattered their illusions of love and romance. However, for a rare few, this experience, though painful, woke them up to a greater awareness of reality itself.
