From a frustrated prof

The student body of WVU has always had a not insignificant rough crowd. I'm not a past or current student. I lived near the area for a few years and lived in the northern Panhandle for most of my life. I've heard the stories growing up and continuing into my adult life. There is a riotous culture at WVU. They are always going to rebel. Especially now in this intense pressure cooker of events where everyone is watching each other.

It's kind of like getting mad at the wind for blowing. Or the sun for rising. It's going to happen. How will you adapt to it for your own sanity?

I seriously wish you the best. I'm likely younger and less experienced than you. I have taught at a college for a couple years, and I loved it. I hope you are able to continue cultivating your students. The ones who care about their education. And the ones that can be inspired to rise to the occasion.

Best of luck WVU prof!
