Sounds like you’ve got 200-300k saved?? Probably good idea your keeping it liquid instead of a mortgage to give you that freedom to retrain. I think being a doctor or any high end medical job is going to be stressful, but at least more rewarding. I’ve heard terrible things and good things about engineering, the YouTube channel engineered truth opened my eyes to how engineering jobs really can be, monotonous and being a cog in a machine. I think young people are going to stay away from inflexible careers moving forward with high levels of workplace politics, and the industries which can adapt to preferences of millennials and gen z will be the ones that attract top talent. A good pay check and security isn’t enough for people anymore, as young people are chasing self actualisation these days.
