Maybe they should focus more teaching the public how Scientology is bad and less on dragging Tom Cruise through the mud. Even serious shit like this won't catch people's attention unless it's watered down with a celebrity name and a bit of juicy gossip about his life. It's sad.

I'm doubtful Cruise is vocal about being a Scientologist. A lot of people he has worked with don't mention anything other than him being a pleasure and Simon Pegg went as far to specifically say Cruise doesn't mention Scientology in his day-to-day life.

Cruise also attributes Scientology to curing his dyslexia which would have forever altered his life and lent much to his success, because in his first few movies he was a functioning illiterate and couldn't read the scripts. He's been in for 30 years; if he believes he is a supreme being and has done so for longer than I have been alive, he's probably never going to leave the Church. Even if he wanted to leave, the church has 30 years worth of data on him from his auditing sessions. No doubt the church will use to blackmail him and keep him in.

He also has an entourage of men in his company constantly. I mean, they literally live in his home with him and they tell him how much good he is doing for the world by being part of the church, how much he is helping. He just wants to help and Scientology I think prays on that drive in people.

I'm sure a lot of people in this sub would be comfortably aware of how Scientologists manage to avoid negative things about the church, or rationalize them away, and these people are experiencing terrible conditions Cruise isn't and still manage to stay connected with Scientology. Cruise is getting all the benefits while being shielded from the negatives. I'm not saying he isn't aware that shit is going down, but it's a tough situation. To us it may seem he is putting the benefits he gets before those at Gold Base being treated like shit; but to him, if he is being told he is helping thousands upon thousands of people, changing the world, then maybe a few people suffering is just part of the journey. Good things for the masses resulting in bad things for a few who dedicated their lives to Scientology for this goal. I empathize with how it might be an easy mindset for him to have.

It's such a shame he is part of the Church and perpetuates the bullshit. His filmography is fantastic and for the most part he seems like a pretty humble person with a mostly positive energy.
